Summer DTS Program for Children and Youth
Fenix Group works to maintain low staff to client ratios (about 1 staff member for every 4 clients), although one-to-one situations may be provided in some situations. We match individual goals and needs to program offerings to help each client reach their potential. Success is found during the process of working together and progress is celebrated.
Our Children’s Summer Program is a summer enrichment program specifically created for school-aged children between 7-17 years old with developmental disabilities. The Summer Program provides an ideal environment for our young clients to learn, grow, and explore their abilities. Our goal is to promote self-esteem, increase social and community safety skills, and foster positive relationships.
As an extension of our After School Program, the Summer Program enrichment activities help our clients in the process of developing gross and fine motor skills, communication skills, grooming habits, and so much more. Hands-on learning activities and the use of multi-sensory materials include:
- Computer lab
- Field trips to the library, mall, movies, museums, and other local opportunities
- Cooking and nutrition classes
- Money management
- Safety awareness
- Music experience
- Artistic expression
