Aktion Club is a community-service group composed of adult citizens living with disabilities. The Litchfield Kiwanis Club, composed of leading business and professional people of the community, serves as the sponsor of the Aktion Club of Avondale. The mission of the Aktion Club is to provide adult citizens living with a disability an opportunity to develop initiative and leadership, to serve their community, to be integrated into society, and to demonstrate the dignity and value of citizens living with disabilities.

The Aktion Club of Avondale was established in the summer of 2013. The club was started with 31 charter members. Twenty one of the members are from Fenix Group and the other ten members are adult students from the Agua Fria Union High School District. The club meets weekly on Friday mornings at Fenix Group and conducts their meetings identical to those of Litchfield Kiwanis Club. The Aktion Club of Avondale is one of only two clubs in Maricopa County.

The Aktion Club volunteers regularly at Hope’s Closet and the New Life CenterHope’s Closet is a local thrift store whose proceeds go directly to the New Life Center. The New Life Center provides a place of refuge and care for over 1200 women and children every year. The Aktion Club also gets involved with community outreach. Aktion Club members recently stuffed back to school items into 100 backpacks for needy children in the community and helped repaint local fire hydrants.
